It Gets Better Project

Sianel fideo ar lein a grëwyd gan Dan Savage ym Medi 2010 ydy It Gets Better. Sefydlwyd y sianel mewn ymateb i hunanladdiad Billy Lucas a nifer o laslanciau a glaslancesau eraill a gafodd eu bwlio am eu bod yn hoyw neu am fod eu cyfoedion yn amau eu bod yn hoyw.[1] Ei nod yw atal pobl ifanc LHDT rhag cymryd eu bywydau eu hunain trwy gael oedolion hoyw yn cyfleu'r neges iddynt y bydd bywydau'r bobl ifanc hyn yn gwella.[2] Mae'r ymgyrch wedi cynyddu o ran nerth, gyda thros 200 o fideos yn cael eu huwchlwytho yn ystod yr wythnos gyntaf.[3] Creodd nifer o enwogion eu fideos eu hunain hefyd. Erbyn yr ail wythnos, roedd 650 o fideos wedi eu huwchlwytho i'r sianel. Am mai dyna yw'r nifer uchaf o fideos y gellir eu huwchlwytho ar sianel YouTube, sefydlodd yr ymgyrch ei gwefan ei hunan, sef It Gets Better Project.[4] Cyhoeddwyd hefyd fod casgliad o draethodau'n mynd i gael eu cyhoeddi hefyd ym Mawrth 2011.[5]

Ar ôl iddo sefydlu'r prosiect, dywedodd Savage, "I wish I could have talked to this kid for five minutes. I wish I could have told Billy that it gets better. I wish I could have told him that, however bad things were, however isolated and alone he was, it gets better."[6]

Nid yw'r prosiect yn derbyn cyfraniadau ariannol, ond yn hytrach cyfeirir cyfranwyr at The Trevor Project, sy'n darparu llinell gymorth i atal hunanladdiad.[4]
