Kelvin-Helmholtz clouds can occur with a variety of cloud forms, like Cirrus, Altocumulus, Stratocumulus, Stratus & Cumulus.
Because of this the Met Office classifies Kelvin-Helmholtz under the heading of Special Clouds.
The other special clouds are Nacreous, Noctil;ucent, Banner Cloudfs, Kelvin-Helmholtz waves (official full terminology).
Another classification that includes lesser occuring cloud forms is Accessory Clouds... listed are...Pileus, Pannus, Velum, Incus, Mamma, Virga,Praecipitatio, Arcus,Tuba,
Then there are Man-made clouds...Condensation trails (Contrails), Pyrocumulus cloud & Fumulus cloud.
