English: The picture shows two crates filled with "Dieter Reick's Cologne cabbage". This cabbage was combined from two halves of white and red cabbage (the traditional colors of Cologne), kept together by a long nail knocked through both. The picture was taken around Christmas 1969 before the artist offered his cabbage for sale at the weekly market in Cologne-Braunsfeld together with the galery owner Ingo Kümmel who was running a market stall there. Deutsch: Das Foto zeigt zwei Gemüsekisten mit "Dieter Reick's Kölner Kohl". Dieser bestand aus je zwei Hälften Rot- und Weißkohl (den Kölner Traditionsfarben), zusammengehalten durch einen langen Nagel. Das Foto entstand in der Weihnachtszeit 1969, kurz bevor der Künstler Reick den Kohl zusemmen mit dem Galeristen Ingo Kümmel auf dem Wochenmarkt in Köln-Braunsfeld zum Verkauf anbot (Kümmel hatte dort einen Markstand gemietet). |
