Males can be seen patrolling stretches of hill streams, perching for brief spells in between on fallen logs or sandy shores. Females almost never seen, comes to water only for ovipositing.
This species is found on small mountain streams or occasionally restricted to tiny brooks or seepages on hillsides. It occurs in colonies, and, where found, is usually moderately common. The species is endemic to the Western Ghats, India.
