Español: La princesa de Éboli
According to the book ("Spanish Fashion at the Courts of Early Modern Europe; ed. by Jose Luis Colomer v. I, Madrid 2014, page 55) it is the fake. "An example of how the costume depicted in a portrait can reveal a forgery is the often reproduced portrait of the Princess of Eboli, which some autors such as Camon Aznar have even attributed to Sanchez Coello. The forger drew inspiration from portraits of the period, but converted the ends of toca de cabos into a separate garment that only covers the shoulders. In addition to this anomaly - no such garment existed - neither the high hairstyle nor the large collar worn by the sitter had yet appeared when this princess died, or indeed by the the time Sanchez Coello died".
