MYRON ZELLER prominent Detroit filer and well known In Wichita who died " yesterday when his Ford monoplane caught fire la the air over Dearborn airport and crashed C L Weasel n mechanic who accompanied Zeller on the flight also was killed Zeller was in Wichita with the National Air tour September 23 He finished the race ln fourth position flying a Ford plane.

Myron Zeller Killed Testing Plane Made Friends While on Tour Myron E Zeller 24-year-old Detroit flier who was killed yesterday when the Ford tri-motored plane be was flying crashed on the Dearborn airport bringing Instant death to himself and a mechanic Carl Wenzel was exceptionally well known In Wichita According to an Associated Press dispatch hundreds of persons witnessed the accident among them Henry Ford Zeller had a national reputation having gained much attention last September when he piloted a Ford on the National Air tour finishing the long grind in fourth position The flier made many acquaintances here when the National Air tour members visited Wichita September 23 The first four places In the tour when It eras here were held by Harry L. Russell John Livingston Art Davis and Zeller respectively Russell who won the contest also piloted a tri-motored Ford Yesterday Zeller and his mechanic had been In the air for about one hour and were returning to the airport when their plane caught fire Zeller managed to bring the craft to earth near the center of the filed with the flaming descent seen by hundreds of persons As the ship hit the ground It turned over and both men were burned to death before firemen were able to rescue them. Walter Beach and Truman Wadlow Wichita’s entries in the National Air tour knew Zeller well
