English: The church of St Melangell A church with a long an interesting history. Information on the inside of the porch suggests that parts date back to the 12th Century, and the grave of the saint herself is 8th Century. The shrine to the saint is said to be the oldest known in Northern Europe. Oddly, the church also contains a whalebone that was found locally; the tides must have come a long way up the river in those days! |
