English: Ysgol Gymuned Bryngwran Community School, High Street, Bryngwran The Reports of the Commissioners of Enquiry into the state of education in Wales published in 1847 states that there was a church-school at Bryngwran, but it was poorly attended, the children being "left to wander about in the road in great numbers idle, or doing mischief." The vicar, the Rev Mr Trevor, complained "The parents send their children to school, or keep them away, just as they please. If they are punished for being absent, the parents remove them altogether, and show their resentment by ill-treating the master". The master was paid an annual salary of £9 for all his troubles.
