Wikimedians in the United Kingdom are [[:m:Wikimedia UK v2.0/Newsletter/November2008#Creating a chapter|working to set up a chapter of the Wikimedia Foundation]], which will aid and encourage people to collect, develop and effectively disseminate knowledge. A board of five members [[:m:Wikimedia UK v2.0/Newsletter/November2008#Elections|has been elected]], and a [[:m:Wikimedia UK v2.0/Newsletter/November2008#Status of Company Formation|company has now been set up]]. [[:m:Wikimedia UK v2.0/Newsletter/November2008#Membership|Membership applications are now invited]], and will be processed as soon as we have a bank account. The organisation [[:m:Wikimedia UK v2.0/Newsletter/November2008#Getting involved|needs the support and involvement of people like you]].
So far, most participants have been based on English-language projects, but we want to ensure that we work with and for Wikimedians in all languages. As Wicipedia yn Gymraeg is an important language native to the UK, we are making contact with you.
We need to know what a new UK chapter can do to assist your project, and how we can best work together to make that happen. We are also looking for people who can translate short pieces of text, such as the first paragraph of this message, to help publicise the activities of the chapter.
