Sgwrs:Indira Gandhi
I still would like to know what is wrong with "Cafodd ei eni". If it's good enough for textbooks, why isn't it good enough for us? Deb 11:51, 20 Tach 2004 (UTC)
- There is a soft mutation after ei (masculine) so - Cafodd Dafydd ei eni - would be correct. ei (feminine) causes an aspirate mutation and therefore does not affect g so female would be - Cafodd hi ei geni. Ei chi ei phen ei thad would be correct because aspirate mutation only affects c,p,t. Hope that makes it clear. Dyfrig 12:03, 20 Tach 2004 (UTC)
Whatare all those ???????? after Indira Gandhi . I note it is also in the English page. Dyfrig 12:07, 20 Tach 2004 (UTC)
- It's her name in Devanagari script, you'll need to have the appropriate language pack installed in your browser to see it (wikipedia tends to use local forms of Russian, Chinese, and Japanese names, too). I use Firefox as my browser (www.getfirefox.com), and these languages seem to come pre-installed. I did notice a rendering problem with the Devanagari name overwriting her dates, which is why I put a line break before her birth date. -- Arwel 14:03, 20 Tach 2004 (UTC)
