John Cowper Powys

Nofelydd ac athronydd oedd John Cowper Powys (8 Hydref 1872 - 17 Mehefin 1963). Clerigwr oedd ei dad a darddai o ardal Powys. Roedd eu mam yn perthyn i'r bardd Saesneg William Cowper, ble cafodd John Cowper ei enw canol. Fe oedd yr hyna mewn teulu o 12 o blant ac roedd dau o'i frodyr, Llewelyn a Theodore, hefyd yn sgwennwyr.
