Writing about the mountains I started wondering whether we are metric or whether there also should be feet? --Okapi 02:36, 11 Mai 2004 (UTC)Ateb

I don't know whether there's a rule; I think it's best to be consistent, whatever you use. (Myself, I'd use metric everywhere, but that's a preference of my own.) (What I'd like to do one day is adapt the software so it can detect numbers with units attached and automatically add the conversion into the other units, as is done on en: with American and British date formats.) Yes, I suppose I would also prefer to use metric... But on the other hand I suppose there still are lots of people who are more familiar with non-metric measures, so what about them? A software for conversion would be great, though... --Okapi 03:39, 11 Mai 2004 (UTC)Ateb
Another vote for metric :-) I think Wikipedia (English) is wholly metric since while mostly everyone has heard of metres etc., the imperial measures are not only completely confined to (nowadays) America and Britain, but also the definitions of some units vary even betwen Britain and America. -- Gareth Wyn 07:49, 11 Mai 2004 (UTC)Ateb
