Wikipedia-wide information network
golyguHello.
I am Anthere. I only speak french and english. I hope someone will be able to translate this, and I apologise if I did not put it in the right place :-)
I would like that information circulate better between wikipedias, so that all wikipedians can participate more, and keep its own identity at the same time.
For this reason, I recently set a page on meta, m: Goings-on.
Hopefull, at any time, this page could indicate the current discussions, polls, votes or general announcements. 3 pages were already locally created on the spanish, the french and the english wikipedia. A global one is now on meta.
Each local page is about general on-goings as well as local ones.
Meta page aims at being about global occurences.
The page is different from the announcement page. The announcement is more oriented toward external communication (such as number of pages, special adverstisement), while the on-goings aim at mentionning community events (such as a new feature poll, elections of board of trustees).
To compare both pages :
- annoucement page on meta : http://meta.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_News (this is rather for general and external announcements)
- goings-on page : http://meta.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goings-on (this is for community announcement). This page is still under construction.
It would be great that each wikipedia in time, set a similar page, so that information could flow more easily between wikipedia. If you do so, please do set the goings-on page locally, so that every wikipedians on *your* wikipedia can see it and participate to it, and please link it to the meta page.
For bigger wikipedia, it is also interesting to set a goings-on page to relieve the local village pump, often clogged with information request.
For small wikipedias, it makes sense to merge the goings-on in the village pump, perhaps by making a separate paragraph.
I am also looking for people who would agree to update the local goings-on in their language. Please, contact me at my talk page for any support, suggestion and feedback.
Thank you very much for your attention :-) Anthere

Translation help required
golyguHi - sorry for using English. I know only the basics of Welsh I'm afraid. I've been trying to translate Gwylliaid Cochion Mawddwy into English, and the results are (temporarily) in en:User:Tivedshambo/Red Bandits of Mawddwy. I think I've got the gist of most of it, but I know there are some mistakes. Could someone please have a look at it and suggest or make coorections before I move it to main space in the English Wikipedia. Many thanks. Tivedshambo 14:17, 5 Mai 2007 (UTC)
Translation Request: Austrian writer Klaus Ebner
golyguHello. I see that there is no Welsh page about the Austrian author Klaus Ebner, which I regret. As contributor writing about contemporary Austrian literature in the German, English and Catalan Wiki pages, I would like to kick off the translation of one of the pages, namely about the Viennese author Klaus Ebner, to the Welsh language. A page of this author already exists in more than 20 Wiki languages. If you are interested in Austrian literature or literature in the German language, please see the following link to the English, French and German pages about this author (other languages can be chosen from there, out from the side menu):
- English Wiki page about Austrian author Klaus Ebner
- Page française sur l'auteur autrichien Klaus Ebner
- Wiki-Seite über den Schriftsteller Klaus Ebner auf Deutsch
Thank you very much for your endeavors.

Saludos a todos. --Elnegrojose 02:34, 1 Gorffennaf 2008 (UTC)
Quick translation
golyguI'm more into helping with the technical implementation of the Wiki, but I thought it may be fitting to have my user page at least bilingual. Does anyone feel like translating the following for me into some beautiful Welsh: "Hello! If you wish to leave me a message, it would probably reach me sooner if you left it at my English Wikipedia talk page."? Reply here, and thanks in advance. +Hexagon1 (t) (en) 10:11, 1 Tachwedd 2008 (UTC)

Foundation Images Policy
golyguHi everyone,
I am Yosri from Malay Wikipedia. Recently I was informed by certain parties that MS Wiki need to delete any images tagged as Non-Commercial under Foundation Licensing policy. After I have done some studies, I realised that Wikipedia Foundations is moving towards allowing commercialises all images, as such they are acting on behalf of commercial company to require all images loaded with tagging Non-Commercial in all Wiki Project to be removed, including those loaded in local Wiki. You are only allowed to licenses your images under "free content", which specifically allows commercial reuse, example GDLF 1.2. Certain images is exempted under a very narrow EDP ("exemption doctrine policy") definition. If you all already aware about this, please ignore this comment. Otherwise, for more details please visit http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Village_pump#Wikimedia_projects_still_using_non-commercial-only_images.3F Yosri 05:01, 2 Mawrth 2011 (UTC)
- Many thanks Yosri. I have read some of the recent arguments over this and have found it very unclear. I take it you don't recommend that we dual-licence? Or should we request a bot to re-licence? Llywelyn2000 07:13, 2 Mawrth 2011 (UTC)
- Someone recommend GFDL to me http://ms.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perbincangan_Pengguna:Yosri#Non_commercial . Basically it allow commercial use as long the resulted work is licence under same license. If you use CC -Common creativity the resulted work copyright remain with the commercial company. You have to explain and discuss at your community for the best licence that served your community needs. Best of luck. Yosri 08:39, 2 Mawrth 2011 (UTC)
- If you need bots to change the licencing, you can refer to MGA73 at common. Yosri 17:43, 2 Mawrth 2011 (UTC)

Harry Mulisch
golyguCan someone translate the articel about the most famous Dutch writer Harry Mulisch? en:Harry Mulisch
- This is a verbatim copy of a previous request (from another IP at the same ISP in Poland). It has already been listed at requested articles, and will be created if someone is motivated to do so. Repeating the request is not going to increase the chance of that. Peredur ap Rhodri 00:30, 4 Mai 2011 (UTC)
Commons translation request
golyguGreetings! Commons is updating its templates for image and sound assessments (such as featured images and picture of the year), and I've been asked to seek out translators for the various templates. The .cy language template is located here: [1]. It is a fairly small amount of text to translate, and would take about 15 minutes. If anyone would care to undertake the task, I would appreciate it! Please mark the translation as completed hereif you complete the task. To test the translation, add your language to this page and view the page afterwards. I can be reached on Commons or Norwegian wikipedia if you have any questions. Best regards, --Kenneaal (sgwrs) 13:18, 21 Ebrill 2012 (UTC)

Ten years of Wikipedia in Asturian language
golyguExcuse me for not speaking Welsh yet.
Oviedo, September 8, 2014
Next September 12 and 13, the Asturian Wikipedia community of users will celebrate with the support of [www.wikimedia.es Wikimedia España Chapter] the tenth anniversary of Uiquipedia, the free encyclopedia in Asturian. The events will take place in Auditorio Príncipe Felipe (Plaza La Gesta, Oviedo).
The first article in Asturian was «Zazaki», a minority language spoken in Turkey. That first edit was in July 26, 2004. Ten years later, more than 800 000 edits have been made on almost 20 000 articles, and numbers are growing every day with the work of tens of volunteers. And it doesn’t stop there: other Wikimedia projects in Asturian have developed, such as Wikicionary, Wikisource and Wikiquote. Managed by Wikimedia Foundation, all of them make part of a global movement that started in 2001 when Wikipedia started with the goal of delivering freely all human knowledge.
To commemorate this date, Uiquipedia and Wikimedia España are carrying out two days of celebration events so that the projects in Asturian are better known. Literature, poetry music and traditions in Asturian will be present. It’s free and everybody is welcome. In addition, Wikimedia España will have its annual General Assembly in Oviedo.

Help with a project
golyguI am initiating a project to record the name of my language in all the languages present in Wikipedia. Starting with those that have already translated the corresponding article. I would need a man and a woman to record what is said in Welsh: Astwrieg . Thanks in advance. - Vsuarezp (sgwrs) 19:26, 15 Tachwedd 2018 (UTC)
